What’s New at the Base of Peak 8

A lifetime of development is coming to fruition.

This winter marks the Grand Opening of the final building at the Grand Colorado on Peak 8. With the completion of Building 3, Breckenridge Grand Vacations and Breckenridge Ski Resort usher in one of the biggest capital investments in the ski industry for the 2019/2020 season.

Expect to be wowed by the Peak 8 transformation. The impressive new epicenter cohesively follows a family’s flow from spacious heated underground parking or transit drop-off to heated escalators to an all-in-one guest services area.

The smart 22,000-square-foot base facility ensures quick and convenient mornings, relocating Breckenridge Ski Resorts’ ski and snowboard school, childcare facility, retail, gear rentals and lift ticket windows into a single indoor stop. From there, exit out onto the heated plaza and take a few short steps to the Colorado and Rocky Mountain SuperChairs.

A towering 20-foot Ullr statue will serve as a prime plaza meeting spot and a nod to the Norse god of snow. The centerpiece ties together the heated outdoor slopeside plaza, now offering plenty of space to lounge and take in the action while enjoying ski-in/ski-out access to Robbie’s Tavern and Peak 8 base attractions.

When your legs tire from powder laps, head back to the base and grab a hot coffee, Colorado brew or regional wine from one of 14 pour-it-yourself taps inside the Ullr Café. The grab-n-go eatery is ideal for a breakfast or après bite and rests just around the corner from the new Peak 8 public ice-skating rink. Rent skates and helmets at the adjacent Breck Blades and take some laps accompanied by cozy fire pits and stunning mountain vistas.

Insider Tip: During summer months, the rink will likely shift to a shuffleboard and pickle ball arena.

GC8 Construction Update

Grand Colorado on Peak 8 owners and guests will enjoy 71 plush new Building 3 residences, including garden-level ski-in/ski-out lodging with plaza decks seconds from the chair lifts. State-of-the-art resort amenities span a 15-seat private movie theater, an Escape Room and a Building 3 indoor/outdoor year-round aquatics center with a zero-entry children’s pool, splash features, an indoor hot tub and an outdoor infinity-style hot tub overlooking the entire Peak 8 base area and ski runs.
