Planning your Summer Vacation to Breckenridge
April 16, 2019 / By: Emily Lawless
1.) Book Early
Mainstreet Breckenridge is only a mile and a half long, meaning this quaint town can book up fast. Try to book your lodging and airfare two to three months in advance to avoid getting in a bind.
2.) Make Dinner Reservations
We are home to over 100 restaurants and pubs. Use opentable.com to reserve your group for dinner.
Avoid travel delays and make reservations for transportation to and from the airport. Whether that be a shuttle or a rental car. Remember, Breckenridge is about two hours from the Denver Airport.
3.) Drink Lots of Water
Altitude in Breckenridge affects everyone differently. The best way to avoid altitude sickness is to drink a lot of water before you arrive. If you are feeling a bit wheezy once you arrive, check out the O2 Lounge for some quick oxygen relief.
4.) Book your Activities
There are plenty of activities to choose from in Breckenridge. Whether your ideal vacation involves mountain biking, hiking, a day at the Epic Discovery park or just lounging by the pool. Make sure to check out all the events and activities going on during the summer before arriving and make sure you pack it all in!
5.) Pack Layers
Did you know Breckenridge’s record high temperature is only 89 degrees? It is summer but because of Breckenridge’s high-altitude environment, we can get every season in one day. Always have a rain jacket on you, you would be surprised how quickly an afternoon shower can roll in.
6.) Be in the Know
Breckenridge and the surrounding area are jam-packed with events all summer long. Check out the events calendar and find something for the whole family to enjoy while you’re here.
While it is important to plan, keep your itinerary flexible. Anything can happen, so it’s always best to adjust your plans as you go. We can’t wait to see you here this summer!
