It’s that time of year again! The sun has been shining and warmer temperatures have been gracing us with their presence. Time to grab the family, let loose and have a little fun at one of Breckenridge’s sought after festivals; Kingdom Days.
This weekend event pays homage to Breckenridge, Colorado. Founded in 1859, Breckenridge was inadvertently excluded from some copies of the U.S. maps, becoming known as “Colorado’s Kingdom” until 1936 when it finally became incorporated. For an entire weekend, this real town turns upside down to pay tribute to gold fields and mining, exploration and adventure, brothels and saloons, booms and busts.
Don’t miss the Kingdom Days Signature Event – the hilarious 9th Annual Outhouse Race down Main Street and enjoy free burro rides, train rides, face painting, gold panning, concerts, historical tours and much more over the course of the weekend!
