It seems like Mother Nature wanted to get a jump start on the 2013/14 ski season this year when she dusted the peaks of the Breckenridge Ski Resort with snow last week! We’ve been hearing whispers about this year being an epic winter! The Farmer’s Almanac is forecasting significant snowfalls for parts of every zone of the country. For Colorado, the almanac suggests more snow in early October along with colder temperatures. Maybe it will stick. Maybe not! We’ll see…

Arapahoe Basin and Loveland Ski Area will open mid October. That’s less than a month away! What happened to summer? Here are the scheduled opening dates for other ski resorts in Colorado:

November 1: Keystone, Copper Mountain

November 8: Breckenridge Ski Resort, Wolf Creek

November 13: Winter Park

November 22: Vail, Eldora

November 27: Beaver Creek, Crested Butte, Steamboat

November 28: Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Snowmass, Buttermilk, Telluride

November 29:  Purgatory

November 30: Howelsen Hill

December 6: Sunlight

December 11: Ski Granby Ranch: December 12:  Powderhorn

December 14: Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, Ski Cooper

December 21:  Silverton
