Happy February to all! The best month for skiing and snowboarding in Breckenridge has arrived. February is so awesome! The snow still is winter-like, dry and fluffy. At the same time the spring cycle kicks in and the weather typically starts to warm up and the days get a little longer as winter starts to slowly release its grip on Summit County. Breckenridge just got over 2 feet of fresh snow in the last week. What a fantastic way to usher in the best skiing month of the season. Breckenridge is almost 100% open and the conditions are the best they have been all season.
There plenty of big events in February. In addition to the Oscars and the Super bowl, the Mardi Gras Parade is Tuesday the 12. It’s a great time with plenty of floats, beads, candy, Authentic Mardi Gras food and parties up and down Breckenridge’s Main Street. The procession starts at 4:30 p.m. between Lincoln and Wellington Streets and will go down Main Street south ending on S. Park Avenue so if you are in town don’t miss it.
Valentine ’s Day is on a Thursday this year and it is also President’s day weekend. Make a reservation for dinner early if you are taking that special someone out to dinner this weekend in Breckenridge. IT’s traditionally a pretty busy weekend in Breck and since Valentine’s Day is also this weekend the best restaurants will be filling up especially on Friday and Saturday.
